Our newest initiative focuses on reconnecting with nature through Indigenous teachings. These seasonal workshops are designed in collaboration with Indigenous leaders and partner organizations to increase access to outdoor spaces and traditional knowledge. Each workshop is open to Indigenous community members and allies.
Our Land Back Program invites Indigenous-led organizations to host workshops that educate the broader community on their Land Back initiatives. These sessions raise awareness about the work being done to restore land to Indigenous stewardship—and how allies can contribute meaningfully.
Run With Respect: Land Education is In collaboration with Owamniyomni, this event centers on running with the land and deepening reciprocal relationships with water and place.
Our monthly Coffee Runs/Walks are casual, community-centered events co-hosted with Makwa Coffee, an Indigenous-owned shop in Minneapolis. On the last Sunday of each month, we run or walk around Bde Maka Ska and return to Makwa for coffee and connection.
The Water Workshop includes a nature walk along the water, water testing with the Loppet Foundation, and teachings from an Indigenous elder on water protection.
Tea Garden & Indigenous Language Storytelling will feature a garden walk, native plant teachings, and storytelling that uplifts Indigenous language and culture.
